radius of curvature
radius of curvature
Zelfstandig naamwoord
- the radius of the circle of curvature; the absolute value of the reciprocal of the curvature of a curve at a given point
Hyperoniemen
Voorbeeldzinnen
- minimum radius of curvature
- radius of curvature of stabling tracks quoted in 4.2.25.3.
- The radius of curvature shall not be less than 3,2 mm.
- Point 4 at the place where the radius of curvature is smallest on the longest median,
- The buffer heads shall be convex and the radius of curvature of their spherical working surface equal to 2750 mm ± 50 mm.
- A sharp edge is an edge of a rigid material having a radius of curvature of less than 2,5 mm except in the case of projections of less than 3,2 mm, measured from the panel. In this case, the minimum radius of curvature shall not apply provided the height of the projection is not more than half its width and its edges are blunted.
- The end of the clutch and brake levers shall be perceptibly spherical and have a radius of curvature of at least 7 mm. The outer edges of these levers shall have a radius of curvature of not less than 2 mm. The verification is done with the levers in non-applied position.’
- The lower edge of the instrument panel shall, unless it meets the requirements of paragraph 5.1.2 above, be rounded to a radius of curvature of not less than 19 mm. (see Annex X, explanatory notes, paragraph 5.1.3)
- A ‘sharp edge’ is an edge of a rigid material having a radius of curvature of less than 2,5 mm except in the case of projections of less than 3,2 mm, measured from the panel according to the procedure described in paragraph 1 of Annex VI. In this case, the minimum radius of curvature shall not apply provided the height of the projection is not more than half its width and its edges are blunted (see Annex X, explanatory notes, paragraph 2.18).
- The section height of the cross-member must not be less than 100 mm. The lateral extremities of the cross-member must not bend to the rear or have a sharp outer edge; this condition is fulfilled when the lateral extremities of the cross-member are rounded on the outside and have a radius of curvature of not less than 2,5 mm.
- With the head restraint installed and adjusted as indicated in paragraph 1.1 of this annex, the impact shall take place at points selected by the laboratory in the impact zone defined in paragraph 6.1 of this Regulation and possibly outside the impact zone defined in paragraph 6.2 of this Regulation on surfaces with a radius of curvature of less than 5 mm.
- The section height of the RUP must not be less than 100 mm. The lateral extremities of the RUP must not bend to the rear or have a sharp outer edge, this condition is fulfilled when the lateral extremities of the RUP are rounded on the outside and have a radius of curvature of not less than 2,5 mm.
- Before the impact test prescribed in paragraphs 5.2 and 5.3 above no part of the steering control surface, directed towards the driver, which can be contacted by a sphere of 165 mm in diameter shall present any roughness or sharp edges with a radius of curvature of less than 2.5 mm.
- In the head impact zone outside the limits prescribed in paragraphs 5.7.1.2.1 to 5.7.1.2.2, inclusive, the seat frame structure shall be padded to avoid direct contact of the head with it: and, in these zones, shall have a radius of curvature of at least 5 mm. These parts may satisfy the energy dissipation requirements specified in Annex IV to this Regulation.
- In case of a gap between the edge of a rigid material and the panel, this edge shall be rounded to a minimum radius of curvature depending on the gap shown in the table in the explanatory note to paragraph 5.1.1.
